Ada Marie Van Meter

PORTLAND, Ohio - Ada Marie Van Meter , 89, of Portland died March 20, 1999, at home.

She was a homemaker and a clerk at Durst Store, Stiversville, and Harris Farms, Portland. She was a member of Freedom Gospel Mission Church, Long Bottom, where she also served as secretary and treasurer.

Surviving: sons, Harold F. "Tub" of Chester, W.Va., Gary E. "Scrap" of Joppa, Ala., Ronald M. "Mac" of Pomeroy; daughters, Jean M. "Mick" Fitch, Geraldine C. "Gerri" Northway and Sharlee A. "Chuck" Evans, all of Portland; brother, Thomas Holter Jr. of Racine; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Roush Funeral Home, Ravenswood, W.Va., with the Rev. Roger Williford Sr. officiating. Burial will be in Stiversville Cemetery, Portland. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
