Alfred E. Van Meter

Alfred E. Van Meter, 71, of Denver died March 15 in his home. Services were March 17 in Runyan-Stevenson-Capitol Mortuary. Burial was in Crown Hill Cemetery. Mr. Van Meter, a native of Wier City, Kan., worked as an engineer and in the mining construction equipment industry. Survivors include his wife, Edna Van Meter of Denver; a daughter, Charlotte Rogers of Lamar; four sons, Alfred E. Van Meter Jr. of Brighton, Robert Van Meter of Westminster, Michael Van Meter of Arvada and Russell Van Meter of Northglenn; two sisters, Margaret Trenkamp of Baldwin Park, Calif., and Doris Kling of Aurora; two brothers, Jack Van Meter of Sacramento, Calif., and Ronald Van Meter of Naples, Fla.; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. Contributions: Hospice of Peace.
