Anna Margaret Van Meter

Anna Margaret Van Meter, 88, of Evansville, died at 7:45 p.m. Wednesday at Deaconess Hospital.

She was a homemaker and a volunteer for Retired Senior Volunteer Program at Evans Cafe, and later at St. James Church on Washington Avenue.

She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.

Surviving are three daughters, Jean Cox and Mary Madden, both of Evansville, and Lois Van Meter of La Crescent, Minn.; two sons, Jack Van Meter of Evansville and Gerald Van Meter of Indianapolis; 20 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Browning Funeral Home, continued at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, the Rev. John Davidson officiating, with burial in St. Joseph Cemetery.

Friends may call from 1 to 9 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home, where a memorial service will be at 6 p.m. today.
