Betty Ruth VanMeter

 

Betty Ruth VanMeter, 83, of Charleston, passed away Friday, May 13, 2011 in Fort Smith.

 

She was born September 23, 1927, in Long Beach, CA to Victor and Alice Wallace. She was a member of First Baptist, Charleston where she taught Sunday school for 50 years; played piano at First Baptist for 30 years.

 

She was preceded in death by her husband Alton VanMeter, her parents and one grandchild Kara Neissl. Service was held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 16th at First Baptist Church, Charleston, with interment at Garden of Memories under the direction of Smith Mortuary.

 

Survivors are one son Eddie VanMeter of Charleston; one daughter, Patricia Neissl of Walla Walla, WA; two Sisters Doris Henderson and Barbara Blackburn, both of California; eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

 

Pall Bearers were Mike, Stephen, Jonathan, Shane, Eddie and Grant VanMeter
