Carleen M. VanMeter

BROWNSVILLE - Carleen M. VanMeter, 84, of Bee Spring died Dec. 31, 2005, at her residence.

She was the former owner of VanMeter Grocery and was a member of New Salem General Baptist Church and the Green River Chapter of OES No. 577. She was a daughter of the late Jack and Maggie Carroll Meredith and the wife of the late Cubert VanMeter. She was preceded in death by a sister, Alta Meredith; and two brothers, Willard and Bill Meredith.

Funeral is at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bee Spring Missionary Baptist Church, with burial in Bee Spring Cemetery. Visitation is from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Patton Funeral Home, Brownsville chapel.

Survivors include a daughter, Ronna Sanders and her husband, Hulen, of Bee Spring; a son, McNeill VanMeter and his wife, Helen of Bee Spring; three sisters, Nina Rich of Bee Spring, Ilene Thomas of Louisville and Verta Vincent of Leitchfield; three grandchildren, Robin Crews of Cave City, Brent VanMeter of Chalybeate and Jodi Johnson of Beaver Dam; and three great-grandchildren, Alexis and Mallory Crews and Brody Johnson.
