Daisy Alene Van Meter
                                             1909-2002


Service for Daisy Alene Van Meter, 93, of Rhome was Tuesday, Nov. 12 at Coker
Funeral Home Chapel. Dr. Thomas Urrey officiated. Burial followed at Aurora
Cemetery in Aurora.
Van Meter died Sunday, Nov. 10, 2002, in Decatur.

Born Oct. 15, 1909, in Cason, she was a retired teacher for Northwest High
School. She married Harold Van Meter July 18, 1930, in Rhome. She was the
founder and past president of the Rhome Library and a member of the First
Baptist Church in Rhome.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; one brother, Claude Russell
and one sister, Nell Criswell.

She is survived by one son, Mike Van Meter and wife Rose of Rhome; three
grandchildren, Ashley Van Meter of Humble, Vanessa Kiser of Nashville, Tenn.,
and Lori Van Meter of College Station and three great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Bobby Downe, Mays Fuqua, Tony Dickey, Dan Maeyers, Joe Wilson
and Edwin Schluter.
