Elizabeth VanMeter Haynie Marshall

Elizabeth VanMeter Haynie Marshall, 98, of Marshall, died Monday, March 7, 2005,
at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, at Ridge Park
Cemetery in Marshall. Rev. Mike Brown will officiate. Memorials are suggested to
First Christian Church or Friends of Arrow Rock in care of Campbell-Lewis
Funeral Home in Marshall.
Born Feb. 15, 1907, in Miami, she was the daughter of the late George Pemberton
Haynie and Lucinda May VanMeter Haynie. She had lived most of her life in
Marshall and was a landowner in the VanMeter Park community for many years
farmed by the Hisle families. She was a graduate of Christian College in
Columbia, the University of Missouri-Columbia and received a teaching
certificate from Missouri Valley College in Marshall. She was a member of Kappa
Kappa Gamma sorority, The Monday Club, Chapter GM PEO, Marshall Chapter
Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of America, Daughters of
Colonial Wars and the Huguenot Society of Missouri.
Survivors include one cousin, Ann VanMeter Stapleton and her family of Marshall;
and nieces and nephews, Pamela Marshall Stouffer, Richard Oliver Marshall, Ann
Marshall Fenner, Winfield Scott Marshall and John Oliver Marshall.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one infant son.
