Eva Joyce Van Meter

Mrs. Eva Joyce Van Meter, loving wife and mother, 65, died on Thursday, May 19, 2005, at her residence of 9 years in Ingram. The prior resident of Mountain City Oaks, in Buda, Texas, was born on April 8, 1940, in Rosanky, Texas, to Jack Willard Boyer and Edna Magnolia Williams Boyer.

Eva Joyce married Gene Delmar Van Meter in Utopia, Texas, residing at Lost Maples State Natural Area, where they began their 28-year journey together.

Joyce (as known by her family and friends) touched many lives, not the least of which were her new stepchildren.

Her loving and understanding nature helped to heal those in need, while her kindness was felt by all who knew her.

Joyce was a retired bookkeeper for the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.

Survivors, husband, Gene Delmar Van Meter of Ingram, Texas; son, Jeffery Constant of Round Rock; stepchildren, Steven M. Van Meter of Canyon Lake, Mark A. Van Meter of Anchorage, Alaska, Debra L. McGee of Ovalo and David E. Van Meter of Ingram; brother, Jack E. Boyer of Cedar Hill; grandson, Jeffery Constant of Round Rock; and 12 step grandchildren.

Funeral services, 6 p.m. Monday, May 23, 2005, Grimes Funeral Chapels, with Pastor David C. Chancellor officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army or Vista Care Hospice would be appreciated.
