Eva Penn Van Meter

Eva Penn Van Meter, 82, of Long Beach Township, died Tuesday at a nursing home in Manahawkin, Stafford Township.

Mrs. Van Meter was a former Realtor for HCH in Harvey Cedars.

She was a Girl Scout Leader in Ship Bottom, a member of the Eastern Star Lodge No. 40 of Barnegat and the High Point Volunteer Ladies Auxiliary.

Mrs. Van Meter was born in Whiting, Manchester Township.

Surviving are two sons, John of Berwyn, Pa., and Robert of Barnegat Light; four daughters, Gay Freedman of San Diego, Merry Simmons of Harvey Cedars, Susan Geneva of Longpond, Pa., and Cheryl Kirby of Ship Bottom; a sister, Margaret Catanzaritti of Hampton Lakes; 12 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m., Jan. 18, at Zion Lutheran Church, Barnegat Light.

Arrangements are by Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, Manahawkin.
