Everett E. VanMeter

Everett Elwood VanMeter, 69, of Burlington, W.Va., and formerly of Maysville, W.Va., died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2006, at Grant County Nursing Home in Petersburg, W.Va.

Mr. VanMeter was born March 31, 1937, in Maysville, W.Va., and was the son of the late Claude H. VanMeter and Angie Kathleen Davis VanMeter.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. Burns of Dorcas, W.Va.; two sons, Lee A. VanMeter of Romney, W.Va., and Edward E. VanMeter of Petersburg, W.Va.; two brothers, David F. VanMeter of Maysville, W.Va., and William VanMeter of Burlington, W.Va.; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

The Rev. Joseph Gerstell will conduct the funeral 2 p.m. today at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, W.Va., where the family will receive friends from noon to 2 p.m. today. Burial will be at Lahmansville Cemetery
