Ivan L. Van Meter

Former Mankato, Kan., resident Ivan LeRoy Van Meter, 74, of Webber, Kan., died Sunday, May 20, 2001, in Hiawatha, Kan.

Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at Megrue-Price Funeral Home chapel in Superior with the Rev. Joyce Beam officiating. Burial will be in the Webber Cemetery. Visitation is until 9 p.m. today and 9 a.m. until services Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Van Meter was born Nov. 24, 1926, to Chester and Gladys (Poole) Van Meter in Formoso, Kan. He attended school in Formoso and Mankato. On Nov. 11, 1945, he married Lela Graham in Mankato.

Survivors are his wife; four sons, Stanley of Concordia, Kan., Edwin of Webber, Von of Formoso and Lindsey of Big Bear, Calif.; one daughter, Denise Hart of Russell, Kan.; one brother, Marvin of Nixa, Mo.; two sisters, Norma Dull of Hutchinson, Kan., and Barbara Foster of Cheney, Kan.; 12 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters.
