Jackson Darrell VanMeter

BROWNSVILLE - Jackson Darrell VanMeter, 87, of Brownsville died at 7:30 a.m. Oct. 1, 2002, at his home.

The Edmonson County native was a retired United States Air Force soldier, a World War II Air Force veteran and a member of Wand B. Doyle Disabled American Veterans Chapter 32. He was a son of the late Chester Field VanMeter and Stella Huffman VanMeter.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Salem General Baptist Church in Bee Spring with burial in Salem Church Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Thursday at Patton Funeral Home, Brownsville chapel, and will begin at 10 a.m. Friday at the church.

Survivors include his wife, Nayphus Russell VanMeter; a son, Dennis D. VanMeter of Bowling Green; a daughter, Denise Rinehart of Dayton, Ohio; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
