Marie Pauline VanMeter
Marie Pauline Landis VanMeter, 81, Cabins, W.Va., died Wednesday, May 2,
2001, at Grant Memorial Hospital in Petersburg, W.Va.
Mrs. VanMeter was born May 25, 1919, in Smoke Hole, W.Va., and was a daughter of
the late Albert and Cora Alice Alt Landis.
She was a cook at Monarch Mills, Inc. Grocery, Buffet and Deli in Petersburg and
retired in 1984. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints in Petersburg, W.Va.
Her husband, Kermit H. VanMeter, died April 30, 1976.
She is survived by two sons, Darrel A. VanMeter, Cabins, W.Va., and Gary K.
VanMeter, Berryville; five daughters, Gloria Goldizen, Nancy VanMeter and Wanda
VanMeter, all of Cabins, W.Va., Sandra V. Adams, Winchester, and Linda V.
Feigenbaum, Alexandria; two sisters, Pearl Judy, Petersburg, W.Va., and Gail
Parker, Arthur, W.Va.; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and two
great- great-grandsons.
Bishop David Bradley and Elder J. Stephen Kimble will conduct the funeral at 2
p.m. Friday at the Schaeffer Funeral Home in Petersburg, W.Va. Burial will be at
Maple Hill Cemetery in Petersburg.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 this evening at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
