Mary Belle Van Meter

Miss Mabelle VanMeter, age 99, resided 823 E. Main St., Lexington, died at 4:00 p.m. yesterday [August 20, 1967]; native of Clark County, daughter of the late Benjamin Franklin VanMeter and Amelia Clay Lewis VanMeter; graduate of Sayre Institute in Lexington, and of Bellevue Hospital School for Nurses in New York; worked as a nurse until 1914, when she retired and returned to Lexington; survivors include five nieces, Mrs. Stanley Leland, Napa CA, Mrs. John F. Day, Bradenton, FL, Miss Martha P. VanMeter, Mrs. Lloyd Averett, and Mrs. Amelia V. Rogers, all of Lexington, two nephews, Benjamin
F. VanMeter, III, Pasadena, CA, and Harold G. Pettit, Melbourne Beach, FL, nine-great-nieces, and five greatnephews. Body to be cremated, graveside services 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at Winchester Cemetery.
