Melissa A. Van Meter 

A student at Evergreen High School who enjoyed watching movies, Melissa Ann Van Meter died of leukemia Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2001, in Vancouver. She was 19.

Miss Van Meter was born Dec. 19, 1981, in Vancouver, where she lived all her life.

She also liked Walt Disney, Scooby Doo, playing Nintendo 64 games and doing word fill-in games.

Survivors include her parents, William and Pauline Van Meter at home; her sister and brother, Angela and Christopher, at home; her grandparents, Lewis Van Meter of Vancouver and Betty and Thomas Nelson of Washougal; and her godson, Nicholas Smith Van Meter.

A funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at Layne's Funeral Home in Battle Ground. Burial will follow in Memory Memorial Park Cemetery.
