Robert J. Van Meter

VAN METER, SR., ROBERT J., 79, of Rio Grande, died on Wednesday, June 19, 2002 at Burdette Tomlin Memorial Hospital. He was born in Philadelphia and moved here 14 years ago. He was a member of Our Lady of the Angels Church, the Loyal Order of Moose, and Local 22 Firefighters Union. He was a firefighter for the city of Philadelphia. He was a Navy Veteran of WW II.

He is survived by: his sons, John R. of Philadelphia, and Robert J. Jr. of Wildwood Crest; his grandchildren, Jacqueline and John; and two great-granddaughters.

Funeral Liturgy will be said on Monday, June 24, at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of the Angels, Parkway & E. Mechanic St., Cape May Court House, where friends may call after 9:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Cape May County Veterans Cemetery.
