Virginia Paul VanMeter

Virginia Paul VanMeter, 68, died Jan 30, 2007, in Lexington after a long and courageous battle against breast cancer. She was the daughter of the late Solomon Lee VanMeter, Jr., and Lois Chapin VanMeter. She graduated from University High School and attended Transylvania University on a scholarship before graduating from the University of Kentucky. She taught school in San Diego, Germany and Lexington. Virginia Paul is survived by three children, William Robinson Patterson, III (Lexington), Lee Chapin Patterson (Richard) Maguire (Alameda, CA), and Christian VanMeter Patterson (Lexington), one grandchild, Grace Chapin Maguire, two sisters, Lois Lynn "Missy" VanMeter Parrish (Paris, KY), and Mary McDowell VanMeter Boone (Lexington), and many loving friends and family members who will miss her. In addition to her parents, Virginia Paul was preceded in death by her brother, Solomon Lee VanMeter, III. Visitation will be 5-7pm today at Whitehall Funeral Home. Private graveside service Sat, Feb 3rd. Memorial contributions are suggested to the John D. Cronin Cancer Center, 1401 Harrodsburg Rd, Lexington 40504.
