The following is a narrative on Leila Armantha Roberts by Lawrence her oldest son:

"Mom was born and raised in Peckville, PA.  She attended Blakley High School in Blakley, PA.  Apparently her parents were pretty well of financially, they owned a Feed & Grain Supply Co., an auto dealership and a the Laundry and Dry Cleaning store, plus other businesses I'm probably not aware of.  They also had a 250-300 acre farm on Hansome Lake near Scranton."

"The family vacationed in Florida in winter (thus Mom & Dad met in a shoe store in Daytona Beach).  Mon was 18 and Dad was 24 when they married."

"She was a devoted wife and homemaker, and was envied by other women because of her sewing.  She made her own cloths from sued, leather, etc.  When she went into women's clothing stores she was often asked where she got cloths she was wearing.  When she explained she made them they would ask if she would make cloths for their stores.  She could also make beautiful drapes and recondition furniture.  And she did all this without any training or schooling."

I'll always remember my grandmother as a kindly person with a sharp mind (she could complete the New York Times crossword puzzle in record time), she made great pancakes and could always blow our minds by putting her leg behind her head when she was in her 60's.
